The Lion King is the top box office movie for 2D animation and a world wide hit. Remember when Disney first introduced it and promoted? It was a phenomenon and everybody was talking about it. It was a very memorable and great movie.

Now, let’s say the Lion King just came out this year, and we haven’t seen it yet (we don’t know if it’s good or bad). In this case, especially with all these great 3D movies around, do you think you would’ve watched it still? Or ignore it and just watch a new 3D animated film like Cars?

I wouldn't watch it, purely for moral reasons, I won't go into a big rant but I refuse to suport a Disney animation, especially the Lion King

I did suport Pixar before Disney bought them out at the begining of the year but not now, to be honest I was hoping Pixar would break off from Disney since they had so much bad blood, but I guess business is business

so I wouldn't go to see either, unless it was by someone else, I have no prefrence for 2D or 3D as long as its good

Without a doubt. All 3D animation does not have great storytelling. I took my daughter to see Over the Hedge. My daughter is only 6 and she stated that the commercials over-hyped the movie. It was not that good and the movie moved pretty slowly. The music (which is always needed in a good animated movie) was not moving at all. I do believe that we would all get past the 2D vs 3D debate to see the Lion King.

I'm a big fan of animation, 2D, 3D and blends. But no matter how spellbinding the animation is the story is critical. Lion King is a WONDERFUL story. Yes I would go see it.

Well, if it came out now it would be more representative of current media... so, it would probably be made in 3-d animation so it appeals to the masses... i'd watch it either way... it's like a modern Charlotte's Web... actually, all Disney films are like that... they deal with orphans or characters that have to deal with loss and such...

YESS! i love that movie who knew that a cartoon of animals could be so emo and funny and just so entertaining? I think whoever wrote the movie and cast the cast who had those great voices was a genius!
