I'm not sure but I know that I took mine every day and my daughter was 8lbs. and 3 oz. and people I know that did not take them their babies were a couple lbs. lighter. If you don't like taking them try to take some kids vitamins like the little characters they work just as good. good luck and congratulations

You need to eat properly and drink milk durning your pregnancy. Also, doctors do recommend that you take a prenatal vitamin during and after you give birth. The vitamin not only help the baby develop properly, but they also help the mother with her health during the pregnancy. Many things affect the birth weight of the baby during pregnacy, so it is hard to say if not taking prenatal vitamins will affect the weight. I believe you should take it on a regular basis.

I tried to take my prenatals, but them made me extremely sick (my doc said it was because I had extra iron & b vitamins in my body so it would reject the pills) so I stopped (under docs advice) after the 2nd month. My son weighed 7lbs 2 oz at birth & is as healthy as can be, really smart & well developed also. I stayed on a well balanced diet though, just in case I made sure to get all of the vitamins I needed through food & drink. So I would say that not taking them would be taking a risk (but TONS of women back before vitamins were invented had children & they came out fine) but if you maintain a healthy diet & lifestyle, then it shouldn't affect it.

I don't think it wouldaffect as much. My first born, a girl, was born a healthy 8 lbs 1 oz... no prenatal vitamins with her. For the second child, a boy, 6 lbs 13 and healthy as well. I took prenatal vitamins with my 2nd pregnancy.
I took it with my son because i wasn;t eating healthy enough and didn't eat much so in lieu, i took the vitamins to insure my son would be healthy as much as possible. Does it have ANY effects, i do not know but if i was to be pregnant agian, i wouldn't take it. too much of a hassle to remember taking it all the time. haha.

I don't know about the birth weight, but I do know that if you don't take enough folic acid (which is found in prenatal vitamins) while you are pregnant, then your child is more at risk for
*spina-bifida*-hope I spelled that right!!!
