they will do good, it is said that super bowls are won by defense. last year the defense started to reach the next level. offensivly they can still move the ball with the pass game. Coach Don coryall says that the passing game sets up the run. and the colts have a great passing game

The common theory is that the running game opens up the passing game. I'm not inclined to believe this. Winning teams have a balance between the two.
Losing James is going to hurt the Colts a little, but I consider Peyton to be one of the best three QB's in the game. A halfway decent replacement for James, and the Colts and Manning will do just fine.

The Colts will still be damn good but Edge was a great running back that knew the Colts system back and forth. I think they'll go 12-4 this year.
Look for the Arizona Cardinals to come out smoking this year with their new all star quarterback, Edge, and their two high flying, catch every damn thing in the air receivers in Fitzgerald and Boldin.....

The Colts will again be in the running for the Top Dog in the AFC..after re-uping Harrison,Wayne and Stokley(to give them..most likely the most feared 3-some in the league) and a above avg. "D" and Manning...coupled with the draft of Joseph Addai(from LSU) a hard-running big back..with blazing speed and Dom Rhodes to provide a 1-2 punch in the backfield..all the Colts need to do is find a way to beat the Patriots and their Golden.

There is not replacement for Edge, but Peyton will make up for it in other ways. They will try running back by committee and remember that Dominic Rhodes rushed for over 1000 yds when Edge was hurt. I think Petyton makes everyone play better. The true will be how Edge performs in Arizona this year without him.

The Colts will be OK. Edge and Manning were equally efficient at making each other look good, so i really don't see too big of a difference. Rhodes will be a very capable back as well, so I don't see much of a dropoff in their game either....

I think James made Manning look good, because the quarterback is the leader. Other than the coach, it is the QB who takes most of the heat for a loss or poor performance. When a QB has a good RB to fall back on, for blocking, or for those in a pinch screen passes, it makes his passer rating look a lot better. But of course, let us all remember that they are just part of a larger team, that all need to work together well to be true and prideful winners.
Oh and by the way, please do not ask anymore football questions? I love and miss the game, but seriously, it is like trying to wish away summer!

What made BOTH of them look good is the O-line. They do a great job there.
There's a lot of people out there that say that Manning is overrated, that if you take him and put him in a different offense, he won't do as well. I think it's the opposite. I don't think that in a different offense you wouldn't hear about Brandon Stokely or Reggie Wayne because Manning's not there to throw to him.
The Colts will win the division still.

The colts are a good team
with a QB with star studded numbers etc etc
but they still are needing to learn the concept of team football
also the defense is weak, got better last year but still need help.
The team overall is needing to get more aggressive.
Also they should be better prepared to play outdoors this coming season. They are used to A/C temp control etc
They will definitely miss James this year it remains to be seen
whether Manning can carry more of that load.
He sure does alot of commercials though.

They both made each other a little better. So, unless there is an adequate replacement, Manning will have to be even better - or the Colts will slip a notch.
