If you're coming from a major metropolitan area like NY or NJ, then it'll be just another mall to you. It's just alot more acreage. And you should definitely see Snoopyland which is the rollercoaster/amusement ride within the Mall. Interesting fact is that more tourists visit the Mall than all other American amusement parks COMBINED! That freakin' blows my mind.
The Mall of America is just a great centerpiece of "Americana", to this native New Yorker who stopped in for a day while I was on my way to northern Minnesota.

probably the roller coaster and several hotels there and the parking lot i would imagine would be many square miles.
