First off let me say the Lions pulled the RETARD move of the draft in handing the Cards a gift buy not drafting Leinart...WHAT?!?!, with Mike and Roy Williams and Charlie Rodgers primed for a good season....also Kevin Jones looking to get back to his 1,000 form. Nothing against Ernie Sims I think he's a top notch LB...but come-on Jon Kitna? Oh Well...I think 8-8, maybe 9-7....or if the secondary plays like last year 5-11 and so-long Matt Millen. Their LB's are Solid-Sims,Bailey and Lehman and a pretty good front 4(lead by Shaun Rodgers)...but the Corners with that cry-baby Dre' Bly it's time to put up or SHUT UP!! On "O"...QB is a Mess...again...(I still think Harrington has talent), The Wideouts are The most deadly Threesome(On Paper) behind the Colts.....but they somehow turn into stiffs on gameday. If the OL can give Kevin Jones ANY kind of hole we're looking at 1,000 yds again and special teams is solid again. The New Coach will do them good and if they can win 6 home games, 3-5 on the road in do-able...a don't think they can win in Chicago just yet, but Minnesota and Green Bay are games they can win, Although the Vikings may be the most underrated team in the NFL. So final call 8-8(maybe 9-7)....Hell 2-6 on the road is a good call, I think and 6-2 at Ford field is within reach.

The lions will take a weak NFC north division and go far into the playoffs. Martz the o coordinator will give the discipline needed for the young talented offense to flourish. Marrinelli will help a already good defense to be better because he is defensive minded. The two coaches working together and getting rid of third string holder joey Harrington will allow the lions to become one of the premiere teams in the league

I can't see the Lions winning more than 7 games this year. Granted the offense will improve now that Harrington and Mooch have left town. However, the big problems lie on the defensive side of the ball. Rogers is their only anchor on the line. Their lbs are weak. Bailey can't stay healthy, Lehman is a liability and Sims has big-time question marks. Dre Bly is their best man in the secondary but can often be burned. Fernando Bryant has been a huge bust. I see the offense winning them a few games but you have to be able to play defense to win in the NFL.

One or two players will not solve the problems surrounding the Lions. They have had a bad front office led by a GM who has made horrible decisions over the past few years. I think they may be a little better, because Kitna can hit the receivers, unlike Joey "He's a wine drinker" Harrington. They will still have a long way to go before they are playing in the off-season.

The Lions are in a funk and it starts at the top and trickles down. Their organization is just not suited to win in the NFL. They need to shake some things up and create a winning formula. Winning and losing is contagious and right now the Lions are on the wrong side of the W.

Boy, oh boy... they have some receivers! Unfortunately, it all goes downhill from there.
The QB situation is terrible. Finally cutting Harrington has been their best move thus far. As for RBs, I don't think Kevin Jones has a single guy that knows how to block in front of him. Do they have any TEs on the roster? Defensively, they just don't have enough talent. The next draft needs to be chockful of defensive talent.
Defense wins titles!
(The Clippers have passed the baton on to the Lions btw....)

I am from Detroit and I say that the Lions will suck once again this year. The problem is that they keep firing coaches and quarterbacks when they need to get rid of Matt Millen. He is the one that makes all of the decisions and from what I have seen, all of those decisions have been wrong. He is the Isaiah Thomas of football.

there coaching situation isnt good, there o-line isnt there, they dont have a good D, and they havent ever had a good qb. the only good thing detroit has going for it is division strenth. and firing steve m from coaching was the dumbest thing they could have done.
