I highly doubt he called Zidane a terrorist. That's ridiculous. I have a feeling nobody knows besides those two and now here all the stupid rumors begin to fly around. Zidane should have been a better man and classier athlete and not let anything some other rival said to him , make him react in such a ridiculous way. Zidane once again showed us all about what his temper has done to him throughout his career........

Yes, he will still get the medal...he just wasn't permitted to have it presented during the medal ceremony.

I really don't think he will get his MVP medal....even though he really deserves it fair & Square......FIFA should change laws on racial comments b/w players...what Materazzi did was plain WRONG !!!! According to Juniper tv channel TF1, Materazzi called Zidane a "****** Arab Terrorist..." do you blame Zidane for acting that way ?? knowing his hot temper ?? I think that was a tactful act, Materazzi knew what he was doing....and he was successful at it......Italy won....point final !!!

He did, but like other french players, either was decided not to get it officially in the field, or just got it and took it off and placed it in his pocket (like coach Raymond Domenech did as he walked out of the podium).
You ask me, they still got 2nd place, that doesn't call for being so bitter on not being first in place. Out of 32, they stand as the top second best team, if I were on that team, I would take pride on that; that is also if I think I gave my best in the field, for myself and the team.

I hope he did. He played well, apart from his disgraceful final...um, what's the word...event? I wanted them to win, but after he and henry and Ribery left, there was nothing left.
