Undeniably, Zidane's still the best despite what happened.
If you're truly his fan, you must be willing to accept both the good & the bad side of Zizou.

I think we should look at his career as a whole and judge him by his lifelong performance, and should not allow tonight's incident to overshadow his brilliance. I truly believe he did a great job during WC 2006 and he deserves to win the Golden Ball award, regardless of the red card. No doubt, there should be no agression on the football field, especially during such a high class game, still I give him more respect for openly expressing that he will not take insults easily vs. backstabbing, which is a more of an Italian team behaviour.

I am a first time admirer of the FIFA World Cup. As an American, I could only follow the team that everyone had favored to win, which was Brazil. But when France beat Brazil, I learned about Zidane and he earned my respect because he is such a skilled player. But after what I saw today, I am very disappointed. He sabotaged his own team, and because of anger, he did not get the chance to save them from defeat. It is too bad, because I will never get to see him play again.

Well, I'm italian, AND a Barcelona fan, but I still have to say that I love Zidane.. so his temper got the best of him, he's still a great player, and I'm sad about his retirement..
I mean, i did feel some dissapointment when the incident happened, but after a while I realized that he is only human, and makes mistakes just like all of us, except that he has millions of people watching..
♥ Zinedine Zidane

Yes, I'll forgive him. because I think he had a reason.
He is a good and fair player, he isn't a temperament man, so if he did such thing there must be a reason.
Materazzi said something that hurt him!
Ow, zidane, what he has said that make you so angry like that?
poor Zidane.
We already forgive you Zizou!

As they say "Never judge the book by its cover",incident of final was no different than that.I think,we only saw what happened but we did not hear what Metarazzi said to Zidane.Afterall ,ZIZOU is also human, lets hear his side of the story aswell and than judge ZIZOU.For now give him a benefit of doubt. As Marcello Lippi before the finals said that ZIZOU is the best footballer he has seen in the last 20-years.Mind you Lippi was his manager for 3-years in Juventeus.

He is not my Idol but I hope the World will not dis-credit him for just this moment ~~~ He is a great player and playing in a WC Final, there is always a lot of pressure especially if that was his last game for France and since things were not going as planned, maybe he was tired & frustrated and provoked in doing what he did but for a player of his category, he should have stayed calm, but then again ~ who is perfect ???

I still support him.. it was all in the heat of the game but he could have avoided that.. I mean come on it was his last ever appearance at the world cup.. but truth is, he's still Zizou at the end of the day, the wizard, who made football look very easy..
