I think you hear a bell before it rotates and the horses gallop, but I am not sure. I am just wondering, so that's why I am asking all you carousel lovers out there.(if there are any, like me)

There's a chime or bell just before the ride begins to warn people the ride is going to begin. That way everyone should know to move away from the ride. Basic safety precaution.

The spirt of the horses. Only true carousels have them. You should feel honered.
