I have also heard that they can get an attorney or talk to a judge at the age of 12, is that true?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but in the State of Washington children have no rights. I have been going through this for 7 years with no luck. Until they reach the age of eighteen, they are obligated to visit with the other parent. Regardless of child support, desires and etc....... It sucks but there is really nothing they can do other than nag and distress the other parent to where he will get sick of it and grow up and not force them to spend time with someone they do not wish to associate with.

P.S. Unless its horrible child abuse things will remain the same. My ex threw a tool bax at out son and that wasn't enough.

Good luck been there, done that
