Keflex normally takes 48 hours to get into your system, and 3-4 days before you'll notice a difference.
Even if you feel better before you finish the medication, take it as directed until it's all gone, or you run the risk of the infection flaring up again.

I just got over a bladder infection, but they always put me on Cipro or Septra they work fine for me, but it may take you another day or two, before it kicks in.. I start telling a difference after the second day of taking them. If you still have problems after taking them a few days , call the doctor they may have to put you on a different antibiotic.. Drink lots of water.I know just how you feel bladder infections are miserable, and if they aren't caught in time it spreads to the kidneys and then you really have problems. That has happened to me too, because I have waited too long. First sign of one now and I go get checked...
I hope you get to feeling better..

Keflex (cephalexin) is the antibiotic your doctor chose. Drs. choose the antibiotic to fight the specific bacteria. If you have questions call his office, However it's not unusual for many days tp pass before improvement. In any case take all medications as prescribed until they're gone regardless if you feel fine before they're gone.

You should be able to call the doctor that is "on-call" (if it is not during regular working hours) and he/she can answer this question for you. Bladder infections are so painful, I hope that you feel better soon.

it usally takes any where from 24 hours to 72 hours before you will notice any relief. it takes time for the antibiotic to run it's course, hang tight, it will work, please dont stop taking the medication when you DO start feeling better, you need to take all of it, to fully cure, your infection, otherwise there could be a chance that bacteria in the body could still be present , and will re-occur.

it doesn't take long for the medication to act. If the bacteria is not resistant to the antibiotic that you are taking, it should get rid of the infection in 3 days, that's why
most antibiotic course for uncomplicated UTI is 3 days.
