Mad people don't know this fact, and this could have played an issue into what Matterrazzi might have said to Zidane which could've caused Zidane to act in the way he did.

Steven R, I'm Muslim too and i feel for Zidane and hate Matterazzi. I've been racially attacked by Italians in my neighborhood more than any other group

Zidane is a naturalized French citizen from Algeria & a Muslim.
After a brief lip reading done by experts on replays of the incident it became evident that Materazzi provoked Zidane by calling him a "terrorist".

It doesn't matter what Matterrazzi said. Zidane should've controlled himself. He's a professional football player, not a professional head-butter. Yes, what was said was uncalled for, but they are both grown men. If one couldn't control themselves, the other should have.

If Zidane is Muslim, then his reaction does not speak well for his beliefs.

Imagine your religion being verbaly attacked by someone and it has nothing to do with the sport your playing. None whatsoever. What would reaction be?

very very possible. I find it interesting that he was a model player until the last game. I think he probably did say something.

Either way. He sacrified not only himself, but his team. He deserves shame.
