Hi, I got this problem is that my phone company that I got told me that I can only have one computer can have DSL but I got two computer and I like to have DSL on both of them. People told me that you can do that but I call the phone company and they told me that I couldn't do it. My brother is got the DSL on the only phone line that can have it. I got dial-up and I don't have the DSL at all. My brother don't even share it with me so I'm stuck with the dail-up. I even try the router route I even brought one to share the DSL but it didn't work and I can't nobody to help me out on that too. I try at least three times to get the router to work and no such luck. I still got the router and it was the waste of my money too. I was thinking can you get DSL on two phone lines with different DSL companies too. I like to get DSL and ditch my dail-up I can't do anything at all. Any suggestion or ideas will be helpful.

Well I don't know what DSL router you got, but a Linksys WRT54G should work out fine. Here is a link to it. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1149562300349&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper Once you put the Linksys in place, the phone compny will not know if you have 50 computers connected to the one DSL line. The phone company will think you only have one. So I am not sure as to why the dsl router you have does not work. You would need to add a little moe detail for us to answer that question.

I can tell you that with the Linksys, you can purchase a http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1149562300349&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper for your computer and it will connect right up to the Linksys router and you should be surfing the internet in no time. If your computer is close eenough to run a cable, then you can use an Ethernet cable to connect from the ethernet connection on the back of your computer to the Linksys router. Once you buy the router read the instructions and you should be all set.

I see that you tried the router. That should have worked for you, as long as it was a decent router. I use the WRT/54G from linksys. If you configure the PPPoE settings you can have the router "share" the connection with anyone on the network. If you are willing to try this again, I will send you a step by step guide with screen shots so you configure it correctly. As far as 2 DSL lines into the house, as long as you have two phone lines, you can get DSL on the second. Now if you are wanting to take two lines and turn them into 1 fast one, i can tell you how to do that too.

With two phone lines you should be able to get DSL twice from the same or different companies.

When you have a high speed connection (is cable available?) use the internet sharing feature of windows to connect additional computers. (leave the main connected computer on when you need to use the other computers. (hub or crossover wire with multiple network cards)

Yes you can. You need to buy an Access Module for that. Access module looks like a router but with 3 DSL slots and 1 slot for your hub.

you can use your router to hook both computers up you most likely arent doing something right either cable problem or nic card problem or computer config problem or router config problem. Make sure dhcp is enabled on router and has enough addresses and that computers are getting from dhcp make sure you got right cables attached and it should work but many things could be the issue just hard to tell without right info

Plug into your brothers DSL ROUTER. String a line between his & your computer.

If that don't/won't work. Connect YOUR router to your brothers THEN connect your computer to YOUR router!!!

ON THE ROUTER, YOU HAVE TO HAVE ENOUGH OUTLETS TO HOOK UP/INTO!

On my router I can hook up to 4 computers to it. Ewire from SBC/ATT/YAHOO!
