Try spraying Fabreeze on them and then hang in the bathroom with door closed and hot shower running for steam. If that doesn't work, put them in a Small enclosure like a closet and burn a long lasting scented candle - use a scent like fresh linen.

Some women swear by a little (1/4th cup) vinegar to the wash. When done you can't smell the smoke or the vinegar

Soak the cloths in Fabric softener available in different flavour for one-two hours and rinse. If available, put in Sun light to dry. This should help

Let them air out on a clothes line for a few days...then frebreeze them and do it again for a few days..
