I.e. - Quitting smoking cold turkey - Quitting smoking by not going on a plan, or weaning yourself off or using the patch or nicotine gum. Just stopping completely.

To "quit cold turkey" means to quit doing something, typically something "bad for you", e.g. smoking, suddenly, completely and also, usually, unassisted, as opposed to gradually and/or with the benefit of some form of assistance, i.e. medication or a "programme".
