Life would probbly end soon it's orbit changes, get a lot colder further away from the sun and a lot hotter if it gets close to the sun. Seriously increasing the chances of colliding with another planet or more astroids. Depends on how fast it's breaking orbit. The atmosphere would no doubt change and the gravitational effects if it were to get close to jupiter or Saturn. It would also affect the rest of the solar system.

The only way for this to happen is if the sun were to instantly disappear. At that point there would be no space-time geocentric line to follow and the earth would travel off on tangent to the former orbit away from the sun which would simply vanish from our sight eight minutes later.

You mean if it falls out of its orbit round the sun?? In a falling into the sun kind of way?
Well things would get just a little bit hot in a 5,500 to 6,000 centigrade kind of way.

Do you know somethng we don't? Natural disasters on such a scale that little would remain to show that there was life on earth - you'd probably stand a better chance of finding our remains in the vaccuum of space.

We would all die because the Earth would either go too close to the sun and fry, or more likely, it'd get farther from the sun and we'd freeze to death.

Well, the earth, as we know it, would quite possibly 'bump' into a nearby planet, moon or our sun... in any case, our asses would be either frozen or burnt to a crisp before becoming space debris for a moment and/or ultimately (immediately?) free atoms and sub-atomic particles in space.

Fall? to where? seems you know nothing about gravity.
wonder what would happen if you paid attention during 5th grade science class, err unless you are in the 4th grade

To be realistic, the earth will tear the universe asunder.

right now it wont b/c their is such a strong pull towards the sun but i guess we would eventually die from no sun and a rippling down effect if we don't die automatically i guess don't worry ur not the only one who wants to no
