Well 16 Million People (Around 12% of the Population) were in the Military at the time. Food, Gasoline and other stuffs were rationed. Pretty much everyone was either a Soldier or involved in the War effort in one way or another.

well firstly I think its really sad that youre asking a question like that on yahoo answers considering there is a plethora of information out there if youre willing to do the research. The major ways WWII changed the world have to do with what countries were allied with one another and the outcome of the war. Basically, communist nations vs. democratic nations. There was also the fact that this conflict went on for years after the war was over and it spawned the arms and space races between russia and the united states. Also, the outcome ended up with a germany that was divided between the victors respectively and the first time weapons of mass destruction were used in warfare. The division of germany between poland and russia gave way to the cold war that raged through the 80's under president reagan.
