I honestly do not want to go to work tomorrow and would like to have a good excuse. I have yet to take a day off...but then again I haven't worked a long time at this company.

Call tomorrow: "Sir, I gave you my word I'd do the job you hired me to do but I really don't want the job. Good bye."

How 'bout that?

Simply tell them you aren't feeling very good. Don't elaborate on it. I am an employer and EVERYONE comes up with some lame excuse when all of the bosses know they are lying. Just tell them, "I'm not feeling well today, so I won't be coming in." Employers are so used to bogus excuses that they would never question something so simple.

If you can, leave a message for your manager right now, even if it is voicemail. Let him/her know you are not feeling well right now and you will call back in the morning if you don't feel well enough to come in.

When you call in, just say you are still feeling ill and will try your best to make it in the next day.

Your supervisor will appreciate the fact that you gave advance notice that you may not make it in and will be more likely to believe you than if you just simply called in.

My garage door is broken and my car is stuck. I have to call a repairman to fix it.

That can take all day, since you don't have an appointment.

Any excuse will work. Sometimes you just need a mental health day. Just make sure they aren't consistently on Mondays or Fridays. Mine were usually on Wednesdays.

I think i would go to work even though you would like to take the day off. Due to you have'nt been there that long. Your employer may look at it and make there own decision that you don't want to work and terminate your employment..

An ex girlfriend called in sick once and said she was to sore from rough sex to come into work. They let her have the night off. Oh, she stripped for a living.
