Actually I do. While medically this is kind of must under normal circumstances to restore physical and mental abilities to perform all functions next day, I know for sure there are individuals who has mastered complete control over physical abilities and they are able to function with full efficiency with just an hour of sleep. Imagine with such advancements, each day one can live at least 6 hours more, 10 days more in a month effectively, 3 more months in an year and finally 15 more years in lifetime. Isn't that attractive enough for me get onto practicing that Yoga which has led these individuals whom I know to sleep only for 1 hour?

Sleeping helps in calming the mind after a long day out and all your organ starts to work and detox your body once you are sleeping. So, yes, sleeping is not waste of time to me.

If sleep is a waste of time, what about life? Maybe life itself is a waste of time. One should bear in mind that sleep is part of the biological clock and when it strikes the time for one to sleep, one's body automatically responds to it. One may delay it but one cannot totally live without it!

Sleep is good for body and soul. Not too little, not too much. About 8 hours is just right. Sleep lets our body and mind heal and rejuvenate.

I had a friend who thought sleep was a waste of time. He forced himself down to about 4 hours a night. It ruined his health, deteriorated his body and mind, aged him.

Well it is sobering to think that you will spend about one-third of your entire life asleep, but it is not a complete waste of time since you will become psychotic without it. I would rather spend time sleeping than go insane, but that's just me.
