no it will not hurt it in mangable amounts. Use a cotton swab and dab it. Put Neosporin or triple antibiotic on next as mentioned. I have used peroxide and iodide on many reptiles to cleanse a wound. Antibiotic cream is a must to promote healthy healing in a captive area.

Do not use Hydrogen Peroxide.
The wound should first be flushed copiously with steril saline or balanced electrolyte solution. In all but minor wounds, sedation is recommended during treatment.Old or obviously infected wounds should not be sutured until infection has been controlled and a healthy bed of granulation tissue established. Application of an antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin two to three times per day during the healing process helps avoid scaring. All but the most minor open wounds should be bandaged.
For the first few days your patient should be housed in a waterproof container with adequate ventilation.Line the container with clean paper towel soaked in dilute providone-iodine (Betadine solution) or chlorhexidine solution. The towels and solution should be changed daily.
During healing, toads should be kept in bare cages or in cages lined with clean newspaper or
paper towel. Particulat bedding material may stick to wounds and should be avoided.
And by the way, Toads breath through their noses.

I would just leave it be, chances are it will heal fine on its own. Betadine and peroxide and definitely alcohol will irritate the wound and at the very least slow healing if not kill the toad

Most likey the Toad has an injury and it will heal ion its own. The Toads have a good immune system on their outer portion of the skin. Most likely it will heal on its own.

You should not use peroxide on any wound. It destroys healing tissue and actually prevents and prolongs healing. As for the toad ?????? I would use an antibiotic cream before anything else. .....

amphibians are very sensitive. I do medical work on reptiles..and vets use completely different medicines for herps then they do cats and dogs. Just call a vet real quikc and they'll be happy to tell you how to fix it. But if its a wild frog, then best to leave it on its way because chances are its carrying other bacteria that can be passed to you,and chances are it will heal quickly ( their prehistoric, their immune system is fantastic!)

Use Iodine. It will sting, but it won't kill it. My frog once got an infection,so we called my cousin who's a vet. He said to clean it with Iodine, and the little guy got over it. An eyedropper works well. I'm 90% percent sure.

Probably. Peroxide is meant for people, and should not be used on animals.

I wouldn't think so. I'm pretty sure vets use peroxcide and alcohol to clean animal wounds, but I could be wrong.
