Yes, it is an out. If there is no one on base, the pitcher will throw the ball to first who then throws it to someone else who then throws it to someone else, etc. It's called throwing it around the infield. Just something they do to keep limber.

It's an out. They throw to first just in case the umpire mistakenly thinks that the ball hit the ground. They also routinely throw the ball to the first baseman to throw around the infield to keep warmed up.

He is out as long as the ball doesn't touch the ground. They just throw to first more out of tradition than anything else, and it goes around the infield with the third baseman always tossing it back to the pitcher.

it is most definately an out. The only reason for throwing to first would be that there was a runner there who had taken off, or just the normal process of throwing around the infield on an out.

The batter in all probability has greater time to react, for a number of motives. -he's following the path of the ball because it leaves the pitcher's hand and making waiting to react to it. -The ball travels swifter off of the bat on a line rigidity than it does whilst thrown in maximum circumstances. -a tumbler's persist with-by using will often flow away him in a destructive place to react.

When there is nobody on base, often the infielders will throw the ball around after an out to stay warm. You seem to be confusing this practice with trying to throw him out.

If the ball don't hit the ground it is an out. I beleive they throw to first just in case the ball hit the ground and that way they can still get the out.

of course it is an out if it is caught on the line drive. the reason for the throw over would be if there was a player on first already there would be the chance of doubling him up.

Yes, it is..
They usually throw to first if there is anyone on first to get them out, if they moved off base.
If there is no one on base, then they thrw for the practice... Practice makes perfect.
