I'll give you a perfect example of math in action that you might run into. Say you buy 2 books on Amazon.com. One costs $14.95 and the other costs $24.95. When you go to the checkout section to actually buy the, the website will calculate your total order (the sum of the two books), and will even calculate and include your shipping.
