well, speeking as someone who has never read more than about 8 pages of any book by neitzsche, didnt he think that the human race was in a poor position, that ethics and culture were stagnating, and that for real advances to be made there would have to be people who would break out of the slave mentality that he thought had been inculculated into western society. i think the term ubermensche was coined to express the fact that these people would only barely be considered human, they would be more than the people of his day, because they would go so far beond the bounderies of the world view people had at the time.

i dont think he thought they had to be from any specific race, and i dont think he litteraly thought they would be barely human. as far as i can tell it is a kind of metaphore for the difficulty of making progress in a large, and largely homogenised society.

You are speaking of Fredrich Nietzsche, the friend of Robert Wagner musician who was a friend of Crazy Karl Ludwig who designed the infamous Castle that is currently used for the Disney fantasy castles? Geez...The man went crazy from thinking too much. He had similar thoughts to those of the Nazis. No wonder he died so young. UBERDENKEN!
