Okay...

They will clean it a whole bunch.. then clamp it with these clampy-things. Then they stab it with a 12 gauge needle. It hurts, don't let anyone tell you differently. I heard a crunch. You will bleed. About an hour after all of that fun, your tongue will swell up pretty good and you will only be able to eat soft things (ice cream, snow cones...).

Pros? Um.. most folks think its a pretty nifty thing to do. Your parents will probably frown (con). The person on the receiving end of the oral sex you provide will usually be quite pleased.
Cons: It can get infected pretty easily if you don't care for it properly. Eating is really difficult for the first week or so.

So there you go... now go and get a hole or two put in ya!

I had my tongue pierced when i was 18. I'm 24 now and i'm just love it. The pros...hmm i dont know really know....its look good? lol. I never asked my man if he likes it (if u know what i mean) When it comes to the cons: when u get it done, it takes a long time to heal (maybe about 2 weeks) and because of that u cant really eat what u want. I ate mostly ice cream, bread, etc...soft and cold things. Forget eating hot for about a week. If u are a smoker, u cant smoke for 48hrs. Same thing for drinking.

Okay, I realize that you have probably already made up your mind to dot it, so I won't bother trying to dissuade you. When you get it done, it will hurt (really), and continue to hurt for a long time. You will have to rinse your mouth out with peroxide, until it heals. When it does heal, you will be the proud owner of a 'thing' in your mouth and, even though you will have to relearn how to talk and eat, you will love it and stick your tongue out to show everyone - all the time. what you've got in your mouth is a sexual device, used to enhance the pleasure of your male partner during oral sex. You, as well as most of your friends don't know that, and the ones that do, don't know how to use it. Ironically, the boys who do know what it is used for, don't know what they are supposed to feel and can't appreciate it. It doesn't matter - you think it's cool. So be it. You'll get bored of it and, after a while, will lose interest and remove it. so, for now - go ahead and get one.

My roomate in college had his tounge peirced.
He said it didn't hurt at all, but his tounge swelled up and he could not eat or talk correctly (see Rat Race movie). It became larger as the days passed and after two days his tounge was blue. The bleeding didn't stop and he constantly had gauze in his mouth and did not go to class.
This continued for a week until I convinced him to take out the piercing. His tounge went back to normal overnight.
I think that sometimes your tounge can have a reaction to the metal put in there. If this happenes, take it out and get it pierced a few months later with a plastic insert...that is, if you REALLY want your tounge pierced.

yes i do. I like it alot. It does get very swollen the first couple days so make sure you don't have to go to work or school b/c you can't talk. Suck on a lot of ice cubes and eat small bites. A know many people that have gotten tongues done and none of us have had any problems. It does have risks that's for sure, but if you go to a professional piercing parlor, the risks go down b/c they know what they are doing.

Yeah I do. Here are some up-and-downs:

CONS:

You have to be carefull what you eat the first 3-5 days, it has to be something soft.
After you eat, you have to wash out with mouthwash.
You cant drink from a straw for a few days. LOL
Its swollen for almost two weeks, but it only hurts for the fists 3-5 days.

PROS:

Girls love it when you kiss them.
Its attractive, and catches more attention.
You can make it clatter on you teeth. = D
You can use it in sexual ways.
You can make the colors match your clothes.

And no it wont hurt when they do it, until after.
And NO its NOT supposed to bleed, if it does, they did something wrong.

Go to a professional, its a few bucks more, but you are safer.

Good lick...(luck.)

Pros? Well, u can play with the stud in your mouth when you're bored.

Cons? The healing part is a b**** though cos u cant eat properly maybe for like 3 days cos the tongue gets really swollen.

yes i did and i like it very much.
You wont feel anything. The worst one is getting a Bridge pierced. That one really hurts but as i said, geting tongue pierced is not abig deal.
Just closeyour exes, think about your favourite music, person .. and let it get done in less than a second.

good luck

Once, when I bit my tongue. Yow! Did that ever hurt! Bled like crazy and then the tastebuds got swollen and everything tasted weird.
Other than that, no.
Cons: It's nasty to look at when someone is talking to you...it's like looking at a piece of chewed food on someone's tongue...

I would recommend not piercing your tongue. It's not uncommon that people have suffocated from a swollen tongue caused by a piercing. It's dangerous and personally I don't think it's attractive.
