He is either insecure and wants to make himself feel better by belittling someone else, or he's an evil prick. Either way, not worth your time. I don't know why people do and say ugly things. We are programmed by nature to let other people's opinions of us affect our emotions. The challenge is to overcome, or at least work around, this emotion. Which gets back to the first point. It is reasonable to care what someone thinks when they are a person who is respectable. Someone who calls you ugly isn't respectable. They may as well call you fat, queer, stupid or a dumb mic. Constructive criticism is useful. Blatant verbal attacks let you know who to avoid socialising with. You could come back with a put down of your own, but some people get off on this, and your response tells them that they affected you. I would look at them, say "good luck with that" and be on my way. Knowing that their putdown was irrelevant to you (maybe show a mild look of disgust when you dismiss them) is a more meaningful insult than they could deliver to you.

Well I got called ugly before and it hurt at first but now that I think about it.....not everyone is gonna think that your pretty and some stupid jack-a** will sometimes tell you that they think your ugly but just shake it off because not everyone thinks your ugly. Dont even worry about it. If someone calls you it again just say back to them....''And have YOU looked in the mirror lately???'' then just walk off.

Ignore it. Period. People like that aren't worth your time. Anyone who has that little understanding or appreciation for people's feelings is better off left alone. Keep working on your own sense of self esteem so you don't worry about foolish commentary like that. Whatever his issue is, don't allow it to become yours. As has been said in history, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. You know that boy is a frog. Leave him alone.

Turn the other cheek, if you come back with some smartass retort then he'll continue to pick on you, the same as if you cry and complain about it. Simply ignore him, he's either a jerk or he's got a crush on you, if he's a jerk then don't waste your time listening to him and if its a crush then he'll have to learn the proper way to speak to a lady. Don't let it get to you dear, worse things will be said by better people.

I'd smile, say "Thank you, I'll be all week", and walk off. He's not worth my time or energy if he's that crude. (Besides, I'm far from ugly and I don't know that I've ever met anyone who is ugly on the outside---on the inside, yes, and someone who would say that is very ugly inside.) ♥

I would walk away from him and stay away as far as possible. If he doesn't know you very well and is going by looks only, he's not worth the bother. It's a cliche but true, "beauty is more than skin deep."
The beauty inside a person is so much more important than how we look. Maybe he's jealous. Don't waste your time on him.

Depends on the person, and your ages. Boys sometimes tease girls they like! Either call him ugly back, or turn the tables and call him handsome. Think what he'd be thinking then. ;)

brush it off
chances are someone in the world thinks ur attractive
and if someone actually goes to the length of calling another person ugly, then they're the ugly one.
the bible says that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by God.
what else could we need?

Just say thnks and walk away!! It is alway best if they think that it did not bother you. People like that are always insecure, or have some sort of deeper problem, so I always felt sorry for them, and it never really bothered me. My granddadalways told me that if they were picking on me they were leaving someone else alone.

tell him that's his personal opinion that he dont look to hot himself no matter what his stick in the mud friends tell him. your beautiful no matter what he or anyone else says...ive never met an ugly person, b/c everyone has one special quality that makes them shine. im overweight, but i have the personality and the whit to make a guy eat his words as soon as he has them out. ignore him and act like hes below your radar. he'll wisen up. and when he does, dont give him a chance in hell.
