No you have to go with whatever party makes you feel right, politics never really has anything to do with religion, it has everything to do with how your country is run, unfortunately certain people from the religous side and the political side like to use religion as bargaining chip to make you vote a certain way or lean towards a certain end of the political spectrum.

You don't HAVE to be anything you don't want to be. Make sure you research the issues and choose the political leaning that best suits you. Not all Christians are Republicans. Christians are actually pretty closely divided between Republican and Democrat, although Republicans do tend to have a slightly higher Christian population. Don't forget about the Independent and Green parties too. And never choose a party just because of ONE standpoint. Really read into each and every standing to make the most educated decision. If you're a Democrat in every way except one standing, just vote Democrat, and same goes for Republican. There's soooo many really good, strong stands that people forget when it comes to politics, please be an educated voter and make the best decison for YOU, regardless of religion.
Choose what's best for you, don't just go with the flow.

If you are looking for a political party that is founded by conservative ideology and Constitutional purity you may want to consider the Constitution Party. There are hundreds of political parties in the US today, but the Democratic/Republican regime has done a great job of alienating all alternative parties and pushing their own agenda(s) with the help of the media.
Do some research yourself. First, understand that our Founding Fathers were completely against political parties for the exact reason we are in this bi-partisan dilemma today. Britain, at the time, was controlled by two parties which dictated, harassed, and overtaxed the people. Sound familiar?
With the obvious problems of both parties coming out lately, many conservative Republicans/Christians have had enough and are no longer accepting the GOP as their party. Most have claimed the Constitution Party as their new affiliation.
Here is their link. But do a search on political parties and see which meets your own agenda.

I am a Christian who adheres to Jesus' words, "Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5:9 The base of the democratic party believes war should be used as only the last resort.
Jesus also commanded us to care for widows, the poor and needy. Democrats on the hill practice real compassion and not merely use the word as a catch phrase in a political speech.

I'm Christian and I'm independent. I think both the Democrats and the republicans have gotten side tracked into partisan politics instead of being concerned with what's actually best for our country and our citizens. I vote for whoever I think will do the best job no matter his affiliation.

Not a chance. I joined "that" side for a while, (I am a Christian also) and then I guess I listened to too much Rush Limbaugh. I now consider myself an independent conservative, and I vote my conscious. To me, that is the only good political stance that you can take. Just for fun, break down the word Politics. Poly means many. Tics are bloodsucking creatures. get the picture? haha

There are a lot of hard-working Christians who are Democrats. Read Homegrown Democrat by Garrison Keilor.

Absolutley not ! I am a Christian , good ole southern hard shelled Baptist, born and raised. I have enough sense to educate myself on the facts and not be led by neocons to drink the proverbial kool-aid. Stand up for your rights and vote Democrat !

I think the principles of Republicans have lots to do with the conservatism they get from being religious. So, probably your tendency would be to be a Republican.. but not necessarily.
