She seems to be a hot head. try to explain to her you don't
like being hit. If her behaviour continues with violence. Let
her know that you wish to distance yourself from her until
she can be grown-up. And be mature.
If that fails! Pray for her and keep your distance.
Violence solvesd nothing! She seems to me to thrieve on
being a bully.

Don't hit her. If she starts arguing with you and blaming you for things, give her the cold shoulder for a while. That will make her see that you aren't going to put up with that. Then you and her mother can sit down with her and tell her how she goes about things isn't the right way and that hitting people doesn't solve anything, it only makes it worse. If she does hit you before any of this happens, she's not a very good friend and you should have the right to decide whether or not you can be friends with her. Whatever your choice still sit down with her and her mother, discussing with wrong of her actions. Everytime she hits someone and gets into a fight, she ruins a perfect chance of making a new friend. Tell her that no one likes to be yelled/hit at and will yell/hit back. Say the golden rule, "Treat other the way you want to be treated." It may sound cheesy, but it actually works.

make sure you and your mutual acquaintences are around when you tell her what you need to say. If she doesn't respect what you have to say then maybe you all shouldn't be friends anymore. It doesn't sound like it is worth the pain and suffering. She sounds like a bully and not a friend at all.
