No, Kevin Brown was not worth it, but a ton of guys are overpaid because of their past. Kevin Brown did not do enough to get that much money.

this information is so outdated. that was the biggest contract 8 years ago buddy. there are many players who have signed bigger contracts since. most noteably alex rodriguez 10 years 252 million. manny ramirez, derek jeter, jason giambi, miguel tejada and many more. and to answer your question no in hidsight he wasnt worth it but at the time he was on his way to doing something special. he was the most attractive free agent that year and back then the owners were throwing money around like it was growing on trees. you dont see these types of huge contracts being handed out anymore. they are reserved for only the elite and even then the owners are reluctant to shell out this kind of contract for fear of the kevin brown factor.

You're a little behind the times aren't you?? A-Rod signed a $252,000,000 contract with Texas for 10 years. If my math is correct that's $25,200,000 per year. A contract that the Yankees picked up three seasons ago.

Simple answer - No
Did the Dodgers win the world series during his time there? That's what they paid him for. Same goes for A-Rod, not worth a thing until he wins the WS.

Of course he isn't worth that ...

Especially considering employees in non-athletic fields of work who bust their assess four times as hard and get peanuts.

A-rod later signed a bigger deal.

But no, the Brown signing was not worth it.

Well, L.A. seems to think he's worth it and I guess that's all that really matters. Good for him, though ! ! ! ! !
Personally, I don't think he is worth it, but that's only my opinion.
