Yes, itching is usually caused by a parasite. Fish will scratch themselves on rocks on the bottom of lakes ot aquariums. This usually causes their shinny bellies to show and is called "flashing"

yes it can and it will usually rub up against the gravel or rocks that you might have in your tank to scratch it...sometimes even a fish needs to itch its scales..

I don't think their scales are as sensitive as our skin. therefore, I'd have to say no, they don't get itches.

Actually, i have seen some tropical fish rub themselves on some rocks...maybe they are irritated but not itchy.

Yep- no arms right- kinda sucks. They rub on objects to scratch. It is called flashing. If your fish do it a lot it is a sign of parasites.
