I know...it seems like many people just ask antagonistic questions to provoke others of the opposing viewpoint. They then select a "best answer" that most matches their preconceived idea. When I ask questions, sometimes it is to commiserate with others who might feel the same way, or to stimulate someone to think as to why they hold a particular point of view. Sometimes, admittedly, it is to get a laugh and have a little fun. It is unfortunate, however, that more people aren't open to challenging their beliefs and giving thoughtful responses concerning why they hold a particular view.

I just asked a question similiar to yours. This is my first time on Yahoo Answer...i decided to check it out after reading an article about how its utilization of collective intelligence(questionable term) could threaten wikipedia and other sites that are based on user-participation. Consensus to my question--it is both useful and entertainment. So maybe half?
