I went over a median in my Corvette a while back. Bent a couple of wheels and an alignment rod. The car shakes at about 60 mph and above in the steering wheel and a little in the body. The tires aren't flat spotted and there is no play in the hub. It seems as if the right part of the hood is shaking the most above the right front wheel. I can't figure it out because the shocks are good too, ball joints look to be in tact. Drive shaft and U joints are good too. Any ideas??

I already replaced the wheels and the alignment rod.

Sounds like a simple tire balancing issue. Have them redone.

You replaced the wheels and the tie rod, but did you have the car re-aligned after you did so? Replacing the strut/tie rod completely changed your alignment specs. What you're describing, if the wheels are balanced perfectly and you no longer have bent parts, is normally an alignment issue. Toe, toe out on turns, and camber all affect road stability and ride comfort. If they're out of spec, your car will vibrate, no matter how little runout your new wheels have.

I would go and have a computerized four-wheel alignment done. But if you can find someone who can do it by hand, so much the better. You should have your 'Vette aligned and balanced on a regular basis anyways.

If the alignment doesn't fix the problem, I'd have your wheels checked for runout.

Hope this helps!

It's tires or wheels, dude. Have a quality tire guy balance wheel(s) and do a detailed inspection of the tire(s). Sometimes the sidewall will be damaged on a tire which will allow a 'sag' in the unit under weight. Brake rotor will NOT be affected from striking curb, however, it could be warped. This is a common condition with discs with some age on them.

You bent a rotor or pooched the sealed bearings.
Also, if you bought wheels from a yard, they are probably bent too.
