The only reliable ways to find out a baby's sex are:
* amniocentisis
* ultrasound
* genetic testing if you had invitro fertilization (bit late for that now, though)

None of the old wive's tales are actually accurate at all beyond simple chance (there's always a 50% shot).

But remember, other than the ways listed above, there is no real way to tell.

There are a lot of supposed ways to predict your baby's sex without an ultra sound. I tried many of them with my last baby who is now 9 months old. Unfortunetly there is no real way of knowing. My doc didn't beleive in ultra sounds so I tried them all and was told time and again, by the way I was carrying, what I was eating, when I concieved, all that said its a boy. Guess what! I had a girl. With my first two I just felt it. I dreamed about the baby and I knew its sex, but with my youngest I was unable to do this. Its up to you but remember not even the ultrasound is fool proof.

Guess really hard.

There are old "baby sex makers" kind of things, eat lots and lots of aspiragus for a boy (see how well that worked for Anne Boleyn, the mother of Queen Elizabeth) and alot of milk for a boy. But those are mostly old wife's tales.

But other than utlra sound, there isn't really a way. But you have to get one anyhow, so just ask.

In the latin culture pregnant women hold a silver pendant on a necklace and watch which direction the pendant sways. If it sways left to right its a girl, if it sways back and forth it's a boy . I don't know if it really works but that's one way people determine the birth of their unborn child without an ultrasound.

No; and sometimes the ultrasound isn't accurate either, given the fetus is in a position where you can't see it's parts. They say when you're "all belly" it's a girl, if you gain all over, a boy... there are many wives tales none of which medically hold true.

I don't think the belly thing holds true, I carried low and I had a boy... I think the heartbeat is a good predictor. I believe a boy's heart rate is supposed to be faster... in the 160's +

If it is a fast heartrate 160 bpm and higher it is a girl. If the heartrate is in the 130-150 bpm then it is a boy.

The Chinese Lunar calendar is a pretty good way. I have have 3 kids, and it has been right on each time. Try the following website for the chart to use. It is fun to try, anyway.

Good luck!

I heard my grandma tell my mom when she was pregnant for my brother, that if you get sick a lot or when the Baby 'says it time to get up' and you need to or get something to eat or whatever then it's a boy. Otherwise if it's quite/calm then it's a girl

There are different methods, but none of them are proven to work. There is a method called the Chinese Gender Predictor, and that's a lot of fun:
