I know, it is so unfortunate that we all have to pay the price for the inhumane, incompetent policies of a few. Unfortunately, anti-American sentiment is growing at a faster rate with each passing year of the Bush Administration. I am sure that there are many who do not lump all Americans into one category of ignorant, Bush loving, renegade, arrogant, fundamentalists but there are far too many that do! We didn't vote for this disgusting administration, but we are forced to bear the burden whether it be in the form of anti-American sentiment, higher tax burden for the middle-class, soaring federal deficits, increased governmental corruption, rising health care and fuel costs, or diminished quality of our air and water. I wish the rest of the world could realize that we, as Americans, are not one mind. There is plenty of opposition and dissension to the policies of this administration.

We have a school where I live that is always the best at EVERYTHING. Almost every sport they dominate, they have a huge alumni following, and all the local businesses cheer for them. If you ever met a student from this school, they seem very cocky.
AND EVERYBODY THAT DOES NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL HATES THIS SCHOOL. THEY HATE THE STUDENTS, THE TEAMS, THE PARENTS, THE FANS, THE SUPPORTERS. Seriously they wish the school would blow up.
But why though? Is it jealousy? Is the school really bad? Actually it is a great school. Most of the students go on to be very successful. So why all the hatred?
I firmly believe that the phenomenon that causes us to hate this school is the same phenomenon that causes non-Americans to HATE America. America is not just the best country in many areas, it is also a genuinely GOOD country, and once Americans cand put aside their *********, and non-Americans can put aside their jealousy or whatever it is, the sooner we can all get along.

Think of who spouts hatred of America. Those who attack civilians, men, women, and children. Those who want countries run by an elite, such as countries who wish to subjugate women. Those who want all other countries to follow their religious run governments.
The United States has been learning how to fight a new war with out front lines and an enemy who hides among the civilians. While such learning is costly, the United States has entered this fight with restraint. No other country or group of countries have the power to fight warfare that the United States does. If it wanted to do so it could end such fighting nearly overnight with the power it has, and yet it doesn’t do so.
Maybe those who complain should get what they wish for and see the United States withdraw from foreign involvement. But can you imagine the deaths, the destruction, the carnage around the world if the United States did so withdraw. The terrorists would run wild killing anyone not like them.

When we are not around they bad mouth us ...just like we bad mouth them when they aren't around. But you know, I travel a bit and when I interact with other cultures, they seem to be generally pretty receptive to who I am personally. They recognize me fairly accurately for what I am and what I am not and treat me accordingly. Ha! (Ouch!)
Don't worry about this issue. People know the common person is not at fault for the problems/inappropriateness of another country. Rational people will treat you as neutral and then decide who and how you are and how to treat you once they come to know you.
Keep your dignity and do what you think is right knowing that you can justify your actions anytime to anybody righteously and without guilt. It's OK to be wrong sometimes and to make mistakes. God help you if you are apathetic!
You know the old adage about sticks and stones?
If we suffer it is because we are not active enough or doing enough personally to protect our own interests. It's pretty much usually wrong to blame others. Truth usually is that you yourself are to blame and need to change some things. That's what I find in my years of experience.
Things that are wrong are simply orange lights and are your que to decide to go or stop in that direction ...or to change directions. Pay attention to that stuff and you will end up where you and your perceptions belong, being respected for who you are and for what kinds of decissions you have made in your life.

I think they mainly hate Bush, and for good reason, frankly I agree with them. The man is an ***. Actually most people in the world seem to like regular Americans. Of course there are a few terrorists around who would love to blow up some Americans but I don't think it is personal. The terrorists seem to be blowing up more of their own people than us. I think the suicide bomber thing is a phase and will eventually fade away.
There are more important things to worry about IMHO.

Yes, the rest of the world hates us. They used to give us benefit of the doubt, but then George was elected a second time. Now they think we're all idiots and have no respect for us as a nation.

There are a certain number of people around the world that really are biased against Americans, but that's not everyone. Many people have open minds, and can appreciate the individual, whether or not American. I think they know that we don't necessarily support what our government does, especially these days.

Sorry to say, but most of the world does hate Americans. They are generally viewed as extreamly arrogant, especially when visiting other countries.
Of course most educated people understand that it is just a sterotype.
