Here's the scoop for the right wingers: In 1962 American spy planes took actual photographs of armed nuclear missiles stationed 90 miles from the coast of the great state of Florida. Guess where they were aimed. Without the loss of a single life, the island hell with a ruthless dictator and the support of a superpower, with nuclear weapons and missiles on a par with us; backed down. Compare that leadership to 2003. A president invades a third world dictatorship thousands of miles away, thinking that they have WMD. With much more advanced technology this son of a president is mistaken. He is duped. Even if there were WMD, so what? Where is the capability to deliver them thousands of miles? When did we become such fearful cowards that we have to invade a country based on such sloppy intelligence? The threat in Iraq, was minuscule compared to threats we've defeated in the past without a bullet being fired. What ever happened to having balls enough to not let fear rule your actions? But, the right wingers are happy because they got everything they voted for: 2500 lost soldiers, thousands of amputees, 300 Billion plus deficits, global warming, inept Federal Agencies like FEMA, a president on vacation while an American city is destroyed, on and on and on. They have it all - Congress, The Supreme Court and the President. Fellow liberals let them have their fun, sleep with a clear conscious for we are not to blame!

Talking Points? What in the name of God are Talking Points? Dawn Darling, our dumbass mayor presided over the biggest orderly evacuation in the history of this country. While our President was scratching his a$$ in Texas.

And don't even get me started on the cuts to the Army Corp of Engineers budget that came about because of your Conservative fiscal mess. Our city flooded because of the negligence of the Fed Govt. in reducing funding to the Agency supposed to protect us.

Where in God's name would someone get the idiotic notion that Liberals are complaining against spy planes? How much brainwashing can the conservative media do?

If you want to know about Pres Kennedy go read An Unfinished Life, by Robert Dallek. Kennedy died in 1963. Don't even think of blaming him for the Vietnam Fiasco.

Hey Mainiac: you sound like you want a resume. Yes, I did graduate from high school, I took some music courses after that in a community college, then I went to the University of New Orleans. I took about 90 hours of courses. Then I went into Rehabilitation Counseling, it took another 2 years and I got my B.S. from LSU Medical Center, School of Allied Health Professions. I paid my own way through this, not a penny from my parents or my country. Then, listen dude...I went to law school. I worked my a$$ off for three years. My specialty is Constitutional Law. I've been licensed to practice here in the U.S. for going on 19 years. You sound like you could have the makings of a good litigator. Think about it. Good Luck and I didn't mean to offend anyone. God Bless, Goodnight

Disclaimer: I misspoke, I do not have a specialty in Con. Law, I meant to say its my passion.

Some try to minimize the magnitde of the problem by calling it "whining". Sorry, that doesn't fly. Then they call for solutions. That's like the Captain of the Exxon Valdes saying, "duh, I spilled the oil - now you clean it up". If you want a solution how bout cleaning up the mess in Iraq like one big oil spill. Double or triple the number of troops there. Get 20 or 30 other countries to each send as many troops as possible to help. Blanket the whole country with troops, like the National Guard is doing down here with crime. Break the country up into sectors. One other country is each assigned a sector. Just get the freankin mess you created cleaned up. There's your solution.

To some people, they see history and current events different from the rest of the world, for instance to some people, the 500 shells filled with old, inert, non- operational mustard gas that the government has repeatedly stated was not the wmds that we were looking for in Iraq, actually qualifies as the same thing we started the war over, even though there was no anthrax, no smallpox virus, no vx nerve gas, no working mustard gas, oh there was a couple shells of sarin still working I might add, though our military has stated these are remnants from 14 years ago, and do not indicate a reconstituted wmd program. People don't ask themselves, "what hapenned to the rest of it" they just make believe that that was all there was. For the real kooks, they cite some already debunked theory that they were shipped to Syria before the war, "well is'nt that a whole lot worse" you might ask, well they just figure, their president will get to it when he can. The problem we have is the supporters of this "president", no matter how badly he screws up or no matter what we hear, will always just excuse it as a lie or part of some massive conspiracy, these people are so blinded by this man's tactics that they would rather doubt what they hear, or even their own common sense rather than admit this guy is what he is, just plain ol incompetent and the wrong guy for the job. Finally when something you just can't deny happens, like another terrorist attack on our soil, they'll resort to blaming the Democrats or peace protesters or anything else except for whats to blame, this sorry excuse for an adminisitration. This is how these people are, you can't reason with them, no matter what facts or evidence or piece of common sense you have. They are like those that used to follow the emperor of Japan, in WWII, those people thought of him as a god, until us Americans crushed their military, and made the emperor admit to all his followers that he was just a man. You just can't expect these people to listen, especially when most of them make believe there is some sort of massive conspiracy against them in the media, so therefore, they get the majority of their news from FOX or right wing websites, and they buy it without any doubt when they say it's fair and balanced. Just cant do nothing about it, you have to let them use their eyes, ears, and brains, and come up with the truth themselves.

Wow, you sound really intelligent! You must have graduated from high school, or even better community college. You sound like you know everything, what with being a left wing fascist in all we should all bow down to the Democrats right? Not!!! You have probably forgotten about the Vietnam war? President Kennedy was in office then right? Oh yeah, and he was what? A liberal!!! So, did he make the right choice? I think not!!! He was so sure that we should go and support a cause that had nothing to do with us but yet let 58,000+ people got killed, injured or captured. 58,000 people are on the Vietnam Wall. And you call President Bush a coward? Oh wait, I forgot, your the all mighty king of know everything, seen everything and done everything. I suppose you were some Navy Seal too?
Not!!! You know what? You may the right to free speech, but maybe you should think about what your going to say before you start talking about a subject you cant back up.

Isn't it possible to just ask a question without giving a speech? So ur a liberal, big deal. After skimming thru your rant I see you have nothing new to say, just the same old Democrat talking points.

So tell us what your plan is? We know you dont like Bush, so forget that. Just tell us what you would do.

So far I havent found a singe lib that really has any idea's that would work. When, or if I ever hear a good idea from a lib I will listen. But right now all I hear is whining. I don't want to hear no whining or Bush bashing, I want ideas. So until you can do that, I ain't listening.

I can't answer commentary, but Kennedy was pulling-out advisors from Viet Nam (we had no TROOPS there then) when his head was blown apart. By the way, it was a junior lawyer on the warren commission who invented the Magic Bullet Theory. His name is Arlen Specter, the (now) senator from Pennsylvania. Lee Oswald was only convicted in the press and he's still considered innocent until proven guilty. There was a book "Lee Harvey Oswald, Portrait of the Assassin", authored by none other than Gerald Ford. The photos of Lee Oswald in the paper at the time at first came out with him holding a foreign newspaper and a rifle. Someone complained that it wasn't a Soviet Newspaper, so they stopped the presses and changed the photograph to show him holding a Sov. paper. Johnson then sent ME to Viet Nam, and then I had a rifle in my hands. By the way, Johnson ducked his head down 20 seconds before the shots were fired. I don't think he was a liberal. I have another word for him.

actually my friend i agree with perhaps everything u just said but unfortunatly as much as the american people want to complain about all of this whos fault is this all really? it is easy to sit back and complain about everything. i am a muslim and i have enough brains to know that world wide it is not the governments fault on what happens it is the fault of the people. why is it sweeden is not like this because their people are active voters. the american people have an out dated voting system where the people here feel like their votes do not count. the government is corrupt because the american people have been getting lazier when it comes to education and from years of thinking the govenrment is doing their jobs correctly the system has been manipulated in every aspect one could think of. now each state is filled with a bunch of ignorant greedy thugs that these people are the ones the people have voted for. the only thing to do is to change the government which involves active voters. it means all american people need to stand up and refuse to be hijacked from their own government any more. the future generation is really screwed because of the previous generations. the national deficit is over 7 trillion dollars by the way. so in the end once again who do we blame the people who start the wars or the people who obey their evil governments and go and kill people in these wars. do not think just because i am muslim i am saying this out of hate for america i do beleive that sadam was insane and what he did to his people he ought to get beheaded for it! but the americans do not need to be the ones who do this. every country should deal with their own government. americans need to take care of their own issues. this means the people of every country are responsible for what their country does!

Here here!! I would like to ask those right wing nut jobs out there why diplomacy is now a sign of weakness?
However, I do think that we are partially to blame. Where were the Dems when the irregular voting practices in Ohio were discovered? Why did Kerry concede so quickly? Where was the outrage? It'll happen again if we don't do something about it.

You're not comparing apples to apples. Sure, there is better surveillance technology available but we are still not all-seeing. There is always the possibility of hiding them.

It's easy to sit back and criticize after the fact. But just imagine if the reverse had happened; if we had done nothing and it turned out that they DID have WMD, after it was too late to stop them from using it? And how could you really know that we weren't in danger? The leadership didn't have the benefit of hindsight that you have now.

There is no excuse for their behavior. Since when does the government of the people mean a quasi dictatorship. Really became evident recently when our fearless leader requested the blank check and the authority for him to sign and issue whatever the hell he wanted. No effing accountability. I don't know what the answers are, but I do know we aren't on the right path right now.

Amen brother. I wish I could sleep with a clear conscience. But for all the misdeeds of Shrub, the one right thing he said is this:

"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph
is for good men to do nothing"

He didn't realize the ironic truth in his statement.
