This is a good question and if all you have the intelligence to answer with is F*** you, well you are just showing us your behind.
Anyway, look up facism on Wikipedia. Here is a quick definition
"
Fascism is a radical totalitarian political philosophy that combines elements of corporatism, authoritarianism, extreme nationalism, militarism, anti-rationalism, anti-anarchism, anti-communism and anti-liberalism."
From where I am sitting, it looks alot like what America has turned into.
If you read a bit more, it talks about a the political ideals being in sync with a fundamentalist religion, namely Christianity.
I think you righties are being hoodwinked and don't even know it.
They also talk about propaganda being a driving force (ie. Fox News), that the state controls the media. Also, the whole "if you're not with us, you're against us" mentality and go on to say that in a fascist state that those that don't agree with the powers that be are labeled as being not patriotic.
I don't think that we are a fascist state...yet. But do believe that we are headed in that direction. I have never seen such hatefulness and divisivness in this country in my entire life and it's not coming from the left! I think that you righties that just want to be rude and throw your hatefulness around need to sit down (turn off Fox, and Rush) and really take a look at what is happening to this great country. Most of you can't even sit down with a lefty and have a civil discourse.
I am very sad and scared as hell about the direction of my country and what it is going to look like for my kids (not to mention the enormous debt that they are going to inherit).

Only in the mind's of people who are too ignorant to know what fascism is.

Anyone who suggests that the United States is "fascist" is a witless moron.

To begin with, American nationalism is hardly "extreme."

But even if it was that is not what defines fascism which at its core is, like its left wing counterpart, Marxism, a view of history and a notion of how the state should be organized.

Fascism is a radical totalitarian political philosophy that combines elements of corporatism, authoritarianism, extreme nationalism, militarism, anti-rationalism, anti-anarchism, anti-communism and anti-liberalism.

The original facist (fascismo) movement ruled Italy from 1922 to 1943 under the leadership of Benito Mussolini. In time, the term fascism came to cover a class of authoritarian political ideologies, parties, and political systems, most notably Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler but also Hungary's Arrow Cross Party, Romania's Iron Guard, Spain's Falange and the French political movements led by Marcel Déat and Jacques Doriot and others.

No. Why don't you look up the word fascist in a dictionary? If you read the def with an open mind I am sure you will see i am right. That is, if you are capable of reading, understanding, and you have an open mind.

But if your mind is already made up, don't waste your time.

We're heading in that direction and will end up there if we don't kick the far-right (as well as the far-left) nutcases out of power and move back towards a center that represents most Americans.
