hmm...i would have to say it was the day i realized i started acting adult, and not because i was trying, but because i had become it....i didn't fight with kids younger then me for the better candy or doughnut and i just gave in to them....i prepared meals for my little sister's friends during their sleepovers instead of waiting on a meal....i could understand situations that used to be confusing for me....i was able to take care of people younger then me....little kiddy series books didn't seem to entertain me the same way they did before....i moved on to a different section in the book store and the clothes store....i began explaining things, instead of always having things explained to me....i had to apply for things by myself and not rely on my parents...i had to make hard decisions, and not decisions like which doll to buy?....i understood and went through the hurtful situations that i watched on TV.....i heard about the hurtful situations and now, I can cry with people and understand how they feel....problems became harder and not just because SALLY BROKE MY DOLL....i experienced pain, hurt, and stress.....but most of all i knew i had become an adult when i learned to distrust...i realized i was an adult when i lost the ability to believe in everything told to me, especially magic....

I'm still having trouble in that area, even though I just turned 47. Maybe it's because I don't think of an adult as someone who has reached a certain age but as someone who doesn't appreciate things with a child like attitude.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

When I realized that I had a choice as to whether or not I walked into a bar and bought a drink. It was subtle, but I remember feeling a bit freaked out by the whole fact that I could actually NOT walk into a bar and buy a drink simply because I didn't want to. No kid ever has that kind of conscious choice.

When I relized that I decide whether I am mad, sad, glad, or bad.
I am responsible for how I feel that is when I behave like an adult.
Becoming an adult is not a permanent state of being.
So, I become an adult "when I act like one" and I revert to being a child(ish) or child(like) "when I act like one."
Some young people can be more adult than some older people!

When I became pregnant and realized that I had to take care of my body that it wasnt about me anymore it was about taking care of her. Being an adult isnt about age its about taking responsibility!

After I graduated from college and had my first "real job" and my own apartment and the bills came with MY name on them and I knew that it was ME that had to come up with the money to pay them month after month, year after year for the rest of my life.
