I don't see how a crater would either prove or disprove the big bang theory.

I can't say that a crater in Antarctica has anything to do with the big bang theory. The big bang would have created that crater so the crater would have come after the big bang. It may however explain other things that have happened to the earth in its existence.

The crater tells us nothing about the big bang. A crater is caused by an object colliding with the Earth. In most cases this object is a chunk of metal or rock from space. In some cases it's a comet from space.
The big bang is a theory pertaining to the beginning of the universe.

The big bang theory is for the creation of the universe. I think a crater in Antarctica really has nothing to do with that.

Hanh? The Earth was formed about ten billion years after the Big Bang, so I don't see how any crater on the planet, in Antartica or anywhere else could disprove it . . . unless you're talking about Noah's ark . . . which is stupid since no human civilization has ever been found on Antartica, living or dead. Just penguins.

There is no relationship between the "Ohio" sized crater and the beginning of the universe.
