You are a foolish, uniformed little jerk. You have no idea what you're talking about. It's pretty clear you've never done any research on the subject but you have to nerve to come in here and bash the greatest country on earth. Your stupid little comments are common place from people who have never taken the time to learn anything before putting your foot in your mouth. You should also learn to express yourself better. Your use of the English language leaves much to be desired.

America's own people have always voiced discontent with its government. It was the first such nation in the history of the world. It is what the country was founded on, the freedom of speech. That's what has made it strong. That is what has made it great. It is not new that the American people have "turned against it". It is an every day occurrence since the birth of the nation. That is why a lot of people have come to America - to "take advantage" of that very freedom.

I'm not sure what your point about "taking advantage" is, though. Can you explain? Are you trying to say that this is proof that the US is not good and other people are? It doesn't really factor when you use logic and common sense. Sorry. It seems to suggest that the US is full of good and non-Americans are evil opportunists. I don't think either generalization is true.

People only hate what we do and what we have. I have spoken to many people from around the world and they all just want to be us. They just don't understand why we have soooo muccchchch sttuuffff, and won't share it around. Also it is not the people who elect our government that was proven in Florida last election and now is mirrored in Mexico and other places, Big money has and will continue to control until the controled figure out that the crap they feed us is really free if you put your mind and back into it. If you don't believe me write GWB a letter and you will never get a response from HIM at best you'll get a form letter from some republican 16 year old thanking you for your inquiry, it will be a democratic 16 year old under a different party, either way your question will go the way of the dodo. Frank Zappa said "America drinks and goes Home". We start tons of Crap everywhere then we forget about it and go to sleep, it's no wonder the world thinks were all nuts, hell more than half the people you know don't know about Viet Nam, Cambodia, Nixon, Kennedy, the fact that prior to 1948 Israel didn't exist. All of the collective knowledge of the US is on a happy meal box in some dumpster at McDonalds in Dallas and all we know how to do is watch Titties on the Internet and bomb children in Beirut or some place like it. Learn not to Burn! Read the teachings of Buckminster Fuller.

Everyone hates the cops when they ketch them red handed. We caught the UN in a bunch of lies and the Iraq ignoring the resolutions that were set up when we signed a ceasefire with them. I have read online that the UN many times over the past 10 years tried diplomacy but Iraq refused to comply. We have always had peace at all cost people living in the US. I answered another question that asked why do our Presidents keep starting wars and was going back to WWI and the fact that the Germans had declared war on US shipping. In WWII we had the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, in Korea we were called in by the UN as peace keepers. Vietnam, the left aided the enemy that gave them hope to outlast our determination. The same traitors are trying to do that now in the war on terror. Take a look at the latest vote in Congress on this subject, the Senate voted 94-6 to back the President, the House was not as wide of a difference, but was still close to 70% for what Bush is doing.

For one thing you act like we elected our president, The majority of people the first go around with G.W. Bush did not vote for him, they voted for Gore. Electoral votes do not reflect the majority (never have, never will). As far as Americans turning against America, that is not true, you do not have to turn against your country to have a different opinion or to strongly disagree with the politics of the president. This war we are in is for his own agenda, not the best for our country. How can the president remain objective when he has such a financial interest in oil? he can't.

There are a lot of things wrong in this country because of politicians, The rich get richer attitude, and the lack of care for our citizens, but I would rather live here then anywhere else in the world. At least here we have the right to free speech (to an extent) and woman are not as repressed as they are in some countries.

No, everybody doesn't hate America. And you changing your question every time someone answers doesn't make your stupid statement a question. If you think "people only come here to take advantage" that shows something about the way you think, and just because you think it it does not become UNIVERSAL LAW.

Give me one country that has said in any way through legal diplomatic channels anything close to "Our Country hates America." Just one. Can you do it? So your secret falls apart, doesn't it?

Why don't you find something else to do with your time, all you are doing is showing everyone how mixed up you are here.

First, I must object to SirFartsAlot82 who said "only liberals and democrats hate America." It's this kind of intolerance and bigotry that are causing many of the problems we now face. What happened to "I may disagree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"? The first principles of any Democracy are violated when we refuse to listen to a different point of view and label it as either stupid or unamerican, etc. If your point is so weak that you must rely on appeals to the person that's pretty sad indeed.

To the point of "Everyone hates America???" I must say I find the premise a little simplistic. To say that many both at home and abroad distrust the current US Administration might possibly be more to the Spirit of the question.

I would say this is true and deservedly so. The Neo-Cons in power have done all possible to put their true motives and agenda in question. Anyone who watches them with anyting other that blind faith must wonder about some of their inconsistencies. (Their party, the Republicans, have done nothing to moderate them, either.)

It is NOT Un-American to think and question our Government. That is our job and duty as members of a free Republic. If it were not, we could all just be Subjects of the King and it would be just as good. Having Freedom and not exercising it is, in a practical sense, the same as not having it. I will go on to say that not using our Freedom for a sufficient amount of time will ensure we loose it!

It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings. ... Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things, which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it. Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves.

I am an American. I have resided most of my life outside the USA, and I have been subjected to anti Americanism for decades. I must admit that what Michelle said ...they think that we are stupid, ignorant and self-absorbed... pretty much sums up what a significant number of people in the world think of us.

This begs the question, why do they see us that way. I hear answers like: They are jealous of our wealth and freedom, etc etc etc; but these are worn out phrases that just circumvent the issue. Anti Americanism is prevalent among people who live in countries who consider themselves to have more, or at least as much wealth and freedom as the Americans.

I remember as a child being told over and over again the we are the greatest country in the world and every one else envies us and would move here if they could. I believed it. Since then, I have, of course, realized that this is not at all true. But I hear these old worn out ideas coming over this Yahoo site again and again.

Could this false and unfounded sense of arrogance be the root of anti Americanism? That is what people outside of the USA have been telling me for years. Is it not worth taking a closer look at this issue?

First I must point out to Andy that the biggest lie was about the existance of WMDs in Iraq. That lie was from Bush and his cronies, including Blair. (Is a poodle a crony?).

People elsewhere do not hate America. They appreciate (or sometimes envy) the prosperity and freedom of ordinary American citizens. Witness the long ques for immigration to USA.

However I wish the Americans would get their act together, overcome their lethargy, and elect responsible leaders.

Not everyone.

I'd live in the shadow of Mount Rushmore if I could!

It's fashionable in many circles to envy and dislike the richest, most beautiful people. America is viewed as undeserving of its greatness because you no longer build and strive the way previous generations did.

Americans have always fought wars and questionable ones too.
But you have great capacity for generosity and innovation.

Just keep curing diseases, developing new technology, and keep up the space program, these are the universal signs of your greatness.

Foreign folks will come around.

Oh yeah, the Christian missionary stuff is good too.

I hate the American government and its Military policy, because it is basically a world bully that murders the innocent wholesale for economic self interest. Like carpet bombing in Iraq to steal their oil. I don't dislike the American people although a lot of them seem brainwashed and not well educated. They don't elect the government anyway. It is formed by plutocrats who pay for all the advertisng and elect stooges like GWB
