Respect, understanding, caring, and doing what's best for you, not what you want to do. That is self-love. Being in love is totally different. It's like falling off a cliff during a dream. You fall and fall and there's no bottom. And it's WONDERFUL.

I've asked myself this same question. But after being engaged three times and married to the third one. I think it is just really wanting that other person to be happy. Sometimes even more then you want yourself to be happy. If you don't feel that way then in my opinion it's not love.
