I lived in North Carolina for 12 years and enjoyed every minute. The people are amazing, polite, and very courteous. North Carolina has so much to offer; the scenery, the incredible food, and so many different options for culture and different experiences.
I also spent quite a bit of time in South Carolina mainly at the beaches. They have wonderful beaches and many things to offer as well, but in my opinion, is more of a tourist place. There are so many people who go there from all over the world to visit the beaches and golf courses that it makes it very difficult to find any peace especially during the peak travel season.
I think that North Carolina is the much better choice. The magnolias are just incredible and the food is amazing. It can make a really great place for a home and to raise a family. There is so much history, things to do and see. It would only take one visit to North Carolina for you to make your decision to move there. If I had the chance, I know that I would move back there in a heartbeat!!
Here are just a few websites for you to check out the many wonderful things that North Carolina has to offer. I suggest that you sign up and send for a relocation package and even tourist information to help you make your decision.
Good Luck!!!!

I've lived in both N and S Carolina and the North has to be the better of the two. South Carolina has completely forgotten "Southern Hospitality" (except Charleston). Everyone I've met in North Carolina is friendly, even to those of us originally from the North. South Carolina has the "good-old-boy" network, and if you're not a member, you don't belong.

North/South Carolina reminds me of the Civil War. South Carolina brings pictures of rednecks. North Carolina brings pictures of business suits. just the first thoughts that came to mind with this question! :P

I was born in South Carolina so it will always be dear to my heart!
My home is in Charlotte, NC and I love it even more because it is the largest city in the state, there is always something to do. Charlotte is forever growing and changing, so once you get used to it something new happens!
