It really depends on how much aptitude you have. If you have a good ear for music and nimble fingers, you might make good music in a few weeks of months. If you don't, you might never get good.

How do you define good? I define good as playing as well as an average professional on stage. I have been playing Bass for 2 years, and i've been playing guitar for about a month and a half. I will be "Good" by next year. i practice 4-12 hours a day, and i will (hopefully) study guitar in college next year.

Most stuff on bass is transferrable to guitar, so if you want a number, i'd say average 30 hours a week, and you'll be "good" in 3 years

I play acoustic guitar, but not regularly. I've heard that it typically takes about 1 year of steady playing to be considered "good". But it takes a lifetime to master.

good is a matter of perspective. If you sing, you can probably learn three chords to a song and do fine after a couple of months.
