on t.v shows, commercials,even cartoons blacks are always made out to uneducated everytime I see a commercial with a black person the are always speaking slang, or just being ghetto. Is t.v giving a bad impressinn on us?

no because its reality. look at the percantage of crimes commited by blacks. even black people say blacks need to get things straightened out.

We live in a society run and own by White people especially the men, so as long as they are in power Blacks, Latinos, and other non-white individuals we will be portrayed in an ignorant, nasty, andNegative way. Due to this, other ignorant or naive people will believe that non-whites are ghetto and some intelligent people will believe whatever White people put on t.v. as well. THis is a RACIST WORLD. IT will never change until Jesus himself changes the world.

TV does play into some stereotypes, both positive and negative. I get very tired of seeing ethnic minorities portrayed as ignorant and lacking all sense when it comes to grammar. I don't understand why we can't see more shows like The Cosby Show. We need to give our youth positive role models, not ghetto-slang wielding nimrods in pimped out cars with half-naked women hanging all over them. It's ridiculous.

Of course Tv is giving everyone a bad impression of everyone else lol. When you watch a movie you are seeing one persons vision. One persons impression. One persons opinion (most of the time). They make something to target a certain audience. They use a label to define everyone. Blacks are ghetto, gays are queens/flamers..southerners are racist. Christians are bigots. italians are part of the mob. The stereo types go on and on.
T.V. limits your imagination and versatility. You stop thinking abstractly and begin thinking how they think to want you to think. I'm not saying it's a deliberate attempt to brain-wash America...but accidently or deliberately, it does happen in a way.

i just watched a movie....called something new and i believe all the black characters in this movie were high class well educated.... i enjoyed it. I think there are just as many movies about hispanics and white showing them as trashy and uneducated.. its not all of them just some.. have you ever seen my name is earl? i mean its all around...
I've just read the comment about how whites are doing this... There are plenty of black directors, it is silly to say that all the people in charge are white... it almost seems that you are saying yourself that minorities are not in charge, or in leadership positions. You made a racial comment about minorities and didn't even mean to. Then you add that Jesus himself will have to save us. It is comments like yours that cause problems. It takes one person to change their own actions (you)... so good luck with that..

Just watch reality TV, thats the way THOSE blacks are acting, not all blacks are that way of course, but the ones in the media are acting ghetto.

It is messed up, it is the same deal with the ebony awards, if we had all white awards there would be a riot, there can never be a middle of the road, I am not racist at all and i love all cultures. It sucks that we have this in our society.

Stereotypes, and they are "good" material for tv or advertising (An help to sell thing I don't know why!)... it's very annoying, but people likes to laugh of other people in their way to be or to see the world, a lack of respect
