My ex-wife moved to North Carolina, so now my daughter gets some peace and quiet once in a while.

You will get a tan more quickly and you can grow three crops of tomatoes per yr instead of two. The medical facilities are world-class in coastal S Carolina. Geographically speaking, the mountains are safer. Education levels are higher in E Tn. But, if you love the sand, the beach, the surf, fishing (saltwater and freshwater), hunting (white tailed deer season is 9 months long), and beach music, you will like SC. Good Luck !

I've lived on the SC coast for 16 years now and absolutely love it. The winters are mild and the living is easy. I can't imagine living anywhere else now. The pace of life here is a bit slower, but you can find a faster pace if you want to. People are nice and usually take time for each other. The only downside is that many people are relocating here and things are REALLY growing.
