Fish take water into their bodies when they need it . Most fish do not breath surface air, they take water into their gills and get oxygen from the water in this matter. There are a few fish that have an organ that allows them to take air from the surface like the Betta, this is because in the wild it lives in water with low levels of oxygen.

no fish do not drink water like we drink it they get water from the water around them and in their food when it gets wet and they eat it. But don't worry i wondered the same thang
