I've noticed this recently... I display very dominant, masculine like body language... but I can actually be very submissive to my boyfriend and in life generally... it doesnt make sense to me... why doesnt my body language match up?

Most people don't consciously control their body language, so it's usually a good reflection of your true mood, feelings and attitude. If you're noticing a discrepancy between your body language and what you perceive to be your true personality, I would give more credence to your body language. My guess is that you are a strong-willed individual and not readily submissive. The mismatch you refer to happens when you supplant your own wishes and desires in favor of others--such as your boyfriend. Make any sense to you?

I just answered another question of yours. I think you may have some insecurities about yourself. Whether or not your body language matches your behavior or not, you need to accept the person you ARE, not the person you put on for everyone else, and be happy with that. That is how God made you and why God loves you. You. Are. Unique. Keep that, and don't copy all these hyped-up "celebrities"...be the person that is you when you're all by yourself.

I think you're confusing body language (intonation of your voice, batting your eyelashes, arm position, voice volume, posture, etc.) with physical characteristics (shoulder width, height, body composition.) Body language is a reaction to the physical world. It's controllable, but only by CONSCIOUS THOUGHT and practice.

If you really are having some kind of disconnect between your body language and what you WANT to be saying, then listen to your body. It won't lie to you about how you're really feeling. Maybe there are deeper issues surrounding your viewpoint towards the world lately?

I will sit up straight or lay my head down. I have 2 times but I looked away after about 4 sec. He has beautiful eyes. I'm shy so I try not to talk much but I do laugh I certain things and I try to put in little words.

It is either one of two things:
1) you are actually naturally and comfortably expressing your dominance.

Or

2)you are actually shy or slightly uncomfortable and are subconsciously compensating for feeling this way by "dominant acting out" that you are describing.

There are possibly masculine and feminine tendencies in "non-verbal communication", but I do not believe there is a such thing as strictly male or female Body language.

I think you might be focusing too much on it. When you are conscious of your body language, then you become awkward. It happens to me. If I think about it consciously, then I have this weird body language. Body language is a spontaneous thing. Let yourself go and relax...

If you're that concerned with body language, you are too concerned.

Be yourself whether you know who that is or not. Men's clothing isn't the issue. Are you looking at how other might perceive you? if so, don't worry it doesn't really matter.

don`t even worry about it, the talk shows and whatnot have to analyze every little thing a person does just to have something to put on the air. if you feel comfortable with your self it does`nt matter what other people see.
