I love ethnic jokes! A good ethnic joke should reflect culture, history and stereotype of the said race or background. I'm not trying to belittle anyone. I love history! One I heard lately from a comedian spoke of him receiving a guest from Germany and taking her to a New York deli where she exclaimed, "You just can't get a good bagel in Germany." To which he replied," Well, who's fault is that?" So tell me your favorite joke and let's try to keep it tasteful. I know so many that aren't and would love to tell them but I don't want to offend anyone and hopefully Yahoo Answers won't remove this question as too risque...or is that risky????

Awww come on, Folks, lighten up, will you? It's all well and good to not allow hateful ethnic tales but some jokes are just plain funny. I thought the one Truckinotter gave was insightful, actually. It was meant as a reminder of the Holocaust rather than in order to make fun of it. If we can't laugh at ourselves and who and what we are then what good is life? It's too short to be totally serious. Personally I think religion is there to be laughed at but that's me. It's her (and mine, thank you very much even though I dislike nasty jokes) freedom of expression.
Besides if people on the street can be usin *****, ho', mother*** (erk!!!!) I highly doubt they're going to be upset by a joke. Most of them will probably be laughing.
By the way, Truck...um, do I have to come up with a joke??? okay, okay, just a minute here....."did you heare the one about the Norski who bought a whole bunch of septic tanks from the US government? That's right. As soon as he learns to drive them, he's going to invade England!"
Okay, no one's laughing. Well, I am. So there....and I'm a Norski-Irish.

I do not like ethnic jokes and will not allow one to be told in my presence. I don't mean to sound snooty, but ethnic jokes continue in a big way to carry on the bigotry we are hopefully overcoming in this country. Think about it!!! Every time you tell an ethnic joke you are demeaning and degrading a group of people. AND every time you listen to one, you give credibility to bigotry. They are not funny!! They are vicious, devaluing, and degrading.

I hope you agree.

Ethnic jokes are not part of history. By you even wanting someone to tell you an ethnic joke is your ignorant way of perpetuating what ignorant people think of that particular race or people. Let's face it, you do want to offend people if not you wouldn't even suggest such a thing.

What race become the yankee? you spot? That makes it only a humorous comic tale! and that i laughed, so all you gentle, overly-politically-corrected people have lost your senses of humor.
