I work in a law firm that has 40 attorneys (including myself.) I may be trained in the legal field, but I'm really not an expert in the area of perversion. (I've lead a fairly plain life.) So please explain something to me. Is it normal for married men in their 50's to be making passes at girls who are in their early 20's? Or does that make them a DIRTY OLD MAN?
I understand that almost all men have fantasies on the wild side and they may like to stare at attractive young women, but to actually act on these fantasies and pursue young women indicates to me that they are filthy dirty old men.
These older men aren't just joking around. They corner young women when they are alone and say things like, "My wife is out of town, how about you spend the weekend with me." And they keep trying even after rejection. It happened to me once and I made the guy sorry he was ever born, but other girls aren't as outspoken as me. Am I right in being disgusted by this? Are these men sick perverts?

I know some of you might be thinking that this is an absolutely idiotic question on my part. But the reason I'm asking is because I think my perception of what's normal has become very skewed over the years. My job requires me to work with a lot of immoral and shameless individuals (attorneys and clients alike), so sometimes really abnormal behavior starts looking normal to me. It's almost as if I've became immune to it. It's a terrible thing.
So I guess this question is sort of like a sanity check. My gut reaction is that these older male married attorneys are disgusting filthy dirty old men who need to be dragged out into the woods and shot by their wives, but I decided to ask this question to get some reactions from the general public.

They certainly fall into the "dirty old perv" category. I'm a librarian, and am in my mid-twenties, and I get that whole "bun and glasses during the day, wild woman at night" stereotype. Old dudes check me out, and it absolutely disgusts me. It's nice to be noticed, unless it's in that sleezy, I want to touch you in a crowded elevator kind of way. And I've found that most older married men who hit on girls in their 20s are just that kind of individual.

If my husband ever pulls something like that, I'll have him neutered... and not by a medical professional...

Hey there are some guys that age without kids....just saying Attractiveness does have it's place here, take any young guy and most will age like milk. An older guy at least you know how he has aged. And if the guy can snag a much younger woman he has to be relatively healthy to do so. Plus they are from the generation of men, the last sad to say, kids these days are too busy trying to pursue becoming the next rapper/ sports player/ something else that requires no brains or skill. And before anyone says "but you have to have skill to play sports" there's so many rules to protect the players from getting injured it's just a bunch of tards running around in circles. Lifestyle...well I'm going to determine how well I live by getting a good paying job.

What you're describing is sexual harassment, and I'm surprised that an office full of attorneys aren't smart enough to know this. Perhaps because they are lawyers, they think they can get away with it. In addition, if these men are married, this is another problem besides the age factor.

Age, in and of itself, is not necessarily a problem in relationships. However, when there is enough of a difference that the girl could be the man's daughter, I do see that as a bit gross.

If I were being harassed by one of these idiots, I'd place an anonymous call to his wife and let her know what her husband is up to at the office. She can set the jerk straight. Otherwise, a girl would need some sort of proof if she wanted to take legal action - especially against an attorney.

Most people will agree with you, saying that the men who do that are indeed perverts. However, I don't agree, as this is a matter of taste. For example, I like men who are at least 20 years older than me. There is no "right" and "wrong" about what each person is attracted to, so it would be better not to judge people that like different things.
As long as the women (in their 20's) are willing and want something to happen, the men are not guilty.

It's wrong,, it's sick and these men just need to learn how to have some respect for others, such as their wives "and" the attractive females in their offices. Fantasies or not.. infidelity is wrong. A person dating or having sex with someone half their age has some very grave issues going on.. It's like they're some kind of pedophile, only it's legal now that the young person is (a little) over 18 now. Those guys ought to be ashamed of themselves!!

It's a power thing. Old rich guys don't feel like the rules apply to them, because they generally don't. Get any one of these conversations on tape & retire rich...

Oh, and to answer your questions...normal? Yes. Dirty? Yes. Disgusting? Yes. Perverted? Probably not, but maybe.

Oh, I am curious about one thing...have any of the girls in your office ever said yes? I'm guessing they have. Sorry, but that bit of human nature (that is to say power and it's exercise and adoration) goes both ways.

To begin, I think you're overreacting a bit, and here's why:

1. Men, no matter what age, will always admire young, nubile women. It's completely natural and any man who denies that is either gay or lying. In fact, anthropologically speaking, men are drawn to young women because they are the most likely, genetically, to produce strong, healthy offspring.

2. Any man, of any age, who comes on to a woman in the manner you describe is not a pervert, but rather an ignorant boor who has no class and should be blown off in no uncertain terms.

3. Many younger women like older men, whether they appreciate the experience and maturity, or because they have a Daddy issue. Regardless, your tastes are not everyone's tastes.

4. No one, clients or coworkers, should hit on their attorneys or associates. It's bad business, there are only losers, and shows an amazing lack of professionalism.

5. If you find these people ofensive, just tell them that you don't have any attraction to them, and perhaps they'd be better served by remembering their marriage vows. It's never a good idea to burn bridges.
