My husbands exwife is wanting to move their precious daughter 130 miles away.We have been getting her every other weekend and a day during the week. We watch her at dance class one night a week and take her to church when we have her. She is only 3 years old and loves her Daddy as much as he loves her. He is a great dad. A paramedic and a Fireman and one heck of a family man. Any advice that wont land us spendind a great deal of time and money in court?

if you have joint custody you might br able to stop her, unless she has a good reason to relocate. if she has found a much better paying job, to relocate closed to medical care that is necessary, better living conditions, ect. if she has primary custody and you get visitation, unless their is a restriction in the divorce decree, she can relocate anywhere in arkansas that she wants. however, you can get the court to order her to provide half the cost of transportation for visitation. lawyers usually provide consultation for free, call around.

I don't know about in Arkansas, but I have read some child custody cases in Texas. It depends on different factors. If he has joint custody and either parent moves more than 100 miles from the child, the arrangements change somewhat, because with joint custody, one parent is supposed to be available for the child at all times, etc. I think you can call legal services for an answer and I know expense can certainly be a problem if you don't have extra cash or if you are not independently wealthy. Good Luck !!

you have to visit an attorney in your state for legal advice. By the way, what is the big deal about spending money?
