If you know the dates you will be going, you can check out the individual airline websites or try travelocity.com or expedia.com to get a general idea of fares.
Make sure to check out southwest.com as Southwest generally has pretty good rates. They fly to Dallas, Houston (Houston Hobby) and Midland/Odessa in Texas.

just go to one of the travel sites like EXpedia.com and enter the info they ask for --date, city of departure and destination, and number of people. That will give you an idea of what it will cost, but then if you shop around some more you might find a better deal. I usually find the best rate on those sites, then go to the actual airlines websites and check there, and most of the time its cheaper to go directly with the airline.
Have fun in Texas!

Some basic questions for you to consider(I am Owner of a Travel Agency):
1-How many are flying? One-way or R/T?
2-City of departure and destination?
3-Departure(and return dates if R/T) dates?
Those small issues aside, it will be much easier to determine what is the most economical flight for your family. If you could kindly either call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me through Yahoo Messenger with your specifics, we can find the most economical flight options that make the most cost-friendly sense.

if you go to hotel.com, you can click on flights and enter the dates and times you might want to go along with adults and children. it will give you the several airlines and the prices. from their, use your computer to pick the airlines and do the same thing. the prices are like the stock market. they go up and down every hour. a friend recently wanted to go from florida to denver. i looked it up for him and told him to wait. a hour later the price dropped by 30 percent in which he locked it in with his credit card. in the sunday paper travel section, you will see many flights around the country that are on special also. but keep a eye on the airline you are to take as the prices change all the time everyday.

Just go to a few differnt sites you can get estimates, try the airlines home page first, then try a differnt source like expedia, or travelocity (there are a million differnt ones)! I think the earlier you book your flight the less expensive the ticket. Have fun!

Use a site like orbitz.com or travelocity.com or Yahoo!'s FareChase to get some fares. If you're feeling rather clueless about using these sites and your own ingenuity, then best call a travel agent and tell her what you want, you'll get a fare quote pretty soon and easily.

Go to Southwest.com (theyre really cheap) or just go to Travelocity and you can put in the dates/number of people/destination and it will give you a quote. Travelocity.com and expedia.com will help you compare prices from various airlines.
