I asked a hair care question about my daughter and someone said that she may be offended for saying she is biracial. Why? She is biracial and very secure with who she is! That is like saying I am offended because someone described me as white, duhhhhh.

My grandson is biracial and we do not find it offensive at all. That is like saying that I would be offended for being called irish-german-italian-american!!!
As long as the child is raised with respect for their heritage on both sides who cares about one single word used to describe that heritage. Bi-racial only means of 2 races.

I have 3 biracial children...that's who they are. Are people now trying to say that we have to be P.C. in our home? I mean 2 of my children are white/black and my baby is white/Mexican...what is the big deal to people? I am not ashamed, they are not. I love them!!! They are my beautiful, healthy, happy, sweet, honest, caring, loving, and a person...not a color but they know who they are and where they come from....they are not offended....only if some jerk is trying to hurt their feelings of course. but only then.

Again I apologize for the jerk who said that. Your child is biracial and that's the truth. Don't sweat the stupid people out here.

Who was this person? Are they stupid?
It's like saying the tree outside my window is going to be offended because I tell you it's a crepe myrtle.

People are paranoid.
They are "offended" by everything and have no clue other than what they think TV is telling them.
PC is out of control.

Not that I know. It's great that your child is secure about this. Keep up the good work.
