My sister worked in several call centers you need to ask her. I know she had to sit for 10hrs or more talking to people, having to handle people yell and scream at her. You have to have a lot of patience!!! One place she worked out all they wanted people to do is be able to type 20wpm, sit long periods, wear headset all day and take calls.

I have worked in call centers for years. (not now)
The absolute requirement for working in call center of any kind is, a type of personality where someone can tell you *anything* they possibly can, and not take THAT home.
It really doesn't matter if you are a telemarketer or technical service person. Some customers feel they have the right to tell you the worst they can dish out once things doesn't go the way they want.
If you took them seriously and take them home, your personal life will be wrecked. Also, you won't enjoy your job and because of it, you won't do well.
There are many moments that will give you great job satisfactions, but there are times you just have to know, it's them who are being idiots.
Please think about this before you apply for a call center job.

What kind of call center? Tech. Support?
If your talking about the people who call me when I am getting ready to sit down and eat, well those people should have the quality of taking no for an answer the first time and not hassle anyone on the phone...
If your talking about tech support, well compassion for the person problems as if it were your own. Understanding not everyone who calls knows what they are doing and that is why you have the job and not them. Patients, for the same reason before..

Unless you want to experience an earthly hell, where every single second of your day is monitored and tracked, treated like a number instead of a person, and have to be given "leadership" by a bunch of figureheads who've never and couldn't, do your job...then by all means go into the call center workforce.
Just be prepared to invest in a flask and plenty of whiskey.

Generaly the ability to OBEY and having a red dot on your forehead seems to work well. The inablity to speak clear and proper English also is a plus.
Otherwise start drinking heavily until your liver goes on strike.
